Adelaide Koala Rescue (AKR) operates a free 24/7 animal rescue service in South Australia, located at Lochiel Park in Campbell Town. The AKR team is comprised of highly skilled volunteers, experienced in animal capture and field assessment, having done some amazing work rehabilitating injured Koalas, especially in response to the recent bushfires.
The damage done to the Koala population was devastating so it is reassuring to know that the centre and its 500 strong volunteers, including vets and veterinary nurses, are doing everything in their power to save as many of these beautiful creatures as possible.
AKR currently has 70 resident Koalas, but this was as high as 175 during the peak of the fires earlier this year. OLP supplied a range of new storage cabinets for AKR's new facility in order to accomodate all equipment and supplies needed to care and rehabilitate injured koalas.
